Perspiration is the polite name for sweat. Normally people start sweating when they do strenuous work. This is vital to regulate body temperature. Sweat glands are coiled tubular structures that are very necessary to keep us active, vibrant, and healthy. While sweating relaxes physical health, it contributes to mental wellness also. Three different types of sweat glands, viz. eccrine, apocrine, and apoeccrine; perform different types of functions. While the first one secrets water and electrolytes through the skin surface; apocrine glands secrete oily substances through hair canals and are found mostly in skin containing hair like armpits, anals, genital areas, and often respond to emotional stimuli including anxiety and fear (sciencedirect.com).

As we study the physiology of normal sweating, it is observed humans have about four million sweat glands distributed over the body, out of which three million are eccrine sweat glands that secret clear odorless fluids that control body temperature by allowing heat loss through evaporation. The function of apocrine glands is generally regarded as that of scent glands, which come up in specific areas like breasts and sexual sense arousal functions.

We encounter sweating mostly in summer or when we do hard work at the garden or do jogging or running or cycling/exercising at Gym. Although we feel bad we enjoy it also as sweating helps to keep the body temperature normal and muscles relaxing. It gives us a lot of benefits:
